Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“The best charity is the one given to a resentful relative.”
[Bukhari]
When somebody insults you, it hurts your ego/pride. One of the techniques to overcome pride is to humble ourselves and give charity to the stubborn relatives ,for the sake of Allah.
